  1.                     KERATOMETER MEASURING TECHNIQUE

  3. Aligning the Instrument
  4.  
  5. If the keratometer is too high 
  6. or low in relation to the 
  7. patient's eye, the body of the 
  8. instrument can be moved up or 
  9. down with the knob that is 
  10. closest the the examiner near 
  11. the base.  Be sure the lock of
  12.  the left side is loosened which 
  13. allows the instrument to move 
  14. up and down.  If the body of the 
  15. keratometer is near upper or 
  16. lower limit of its movement, 
  17. the patient can be raised or 
  18. lowered by moving the chinrest 
  19. up or down using the knob in front of 
  20. the one to raise and lower the 
  21. instrument body.
